Magical Music Hall
Every theatre is different.
But Wiltons Music Hall really is unique.
It has seen many transformations since starting life as a
music hall in the 1850s. The most recent was about 5 years ago.
That makeover established a “shabby chic” theatre design style,
since famously adopted at Battersea Arts Centre and Alexandra Palace.
Our job was to improve the sight lines in the balcony by raising the floor.
As Wiltons is a listed building we used our Metrodeck system (so it could always be removed)
and finished the deck tops in Victorian floorboards (to fit the aesthetic).
How did it end up? Judge for yourself!
The floorboards you see now are all on a new Metrodeck floor. They blend in well.
Our new floor levels work well with the Audience Systems chairs
We were also asked to adapt the stage front - in keeping with the aesthetic
And who has enough storage space? Not WMH! So we made them some more!
